Overhiring of Native Americans in Federal Independent Agencies

          10 of the 23 independent federal agencies exceeded their racial quotas for Native Americans by 20% to 140%. Down:

          Two agencies are tied for first place for overhiring of Native Americans:  Both the Smithsonian Institution and the Social Security Administration came in at 140% over their racial quota for employing Native Americans.

          The poorest quota performer among the 23 independent agencies was the Armed Forces Retirement Home which fell short of its quota for Native Americans by 83.3%.

          15 of the 17 federal executive departments exceeded their quota for hiring Native Americans.

          The top quota performer in this group was the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services which exceeded their racial quota for Native Americans by an astounding 3,320%!

          Honorable mention must go to the U.S. Department of Interior who hired 2,320% more Native Americans than their proportion in the civilian labor force.

          U.S. Department of State was the only department in this category to actually go negative: they underhired Native Americans by 20%.
