LTC Michael Leventhal

Michael G. Leventhal was born and raised in a tenement in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn New York. His family were blue collar foundry workers who with sweat and skill, created the Iwo Jima statue that resides in Washington DC.  He himself holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in a New York State command, having been decorated at the request of The Department of Defense for work during Desert Storm. In 1998 he received a decoration for bravery during efforts in uniform that saved the life of a civilian in a homicide scene.           Leaving home at an early age, Michael worked his way through college, earning a BA Degree in Psychology in the evenings. In 1982, he and the woman that was to become his wife opened a computer technology firm that specialized in technology consulting and training.

          In the early 1990's Michael broke new ground in the field of best selling reader-friendly "how to" computer books, writing and contributing to works published by MacMillian Publishing and Prentice Hall.

          In 1996 and due to his wife's suffering a severe exacerbation of Multiple Sclerosis that necessitated his being available for her care and comfort, Michael shut down his business and secured employment in one of the ten great law libraries of America in mid-town Manhattan. In the capacity of Technology Resource Manager, he designed and manages one of the most sophisticated legal research centers in the field of law.

          Michael is married to Caryl Ball Leventhal of Naples New York, located in rural western New York State. She herself is from a farming family that arrived on the shores of America in the early 1700's. People of the soil, her ancestors volunteered and fought for American liberty in virtually every conflict from the inception of this great nation to Viet Nam. They currently reside in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn.

          Confirmed Libertarians, Michael and the woman that defines his life, believe that people should be judged by conduct, ability and integrity. They feel that there is no place in the American culture for judging talent, character and institutionalized benefits based on ethnicity, religion or family background. Michael is a practitioner of the Jewish faith and over the years, his WASP wife has chosen this faith as her own.

          Mr. Leventhal became acutely concerned about the devastating social engineering and preoccupation with race and ethnicity propagated by government when its effects left his wife brutalized and permanently disabled. In 1995, Mrs. Leventhal secured a position as lower level supervisor in the USDOJ's Immigration and Naturalization Service, 26 Federal Plaza New York City. Thrust into an environment of wide spread corruption involving the illegal sale of Green Cards, she was met with hostility and brutality. Ethnically different from those involved and unwilling to go along with the prevailing criminal activity, they wanted her out.

          Within eight months of employment, Caryl Leventhal was totally disabled, terminated without warning. She was immediately replaced with someone more ethnically akin to the criminals and willing to turn a blind eye to the obvious, until the story broke in the newspapers during 1998 and numerous people were arrested. Since 1996 Michael and his terminally ill wife have been battling with a callous, brutal and racially sensitive USDOJ INS bureaucracy. Caryl has always been willing to settle for a simple apology. To date, the Leventhal's have been met with intimidation, a death threat and threat of arrest and prosecution if they didn't make their internationally popular website www.justice-denied.net more amenable to the government.

(Editor's Note:  I first became aware of Michael and Caryl Leventhal's lawsuit against INS in April 2000.  I was deeply impressed by Michael's love for his wife, Caryl, and by his dedication to obtaining justice for her.   In the course of their struggle, both Leventhal's have had to confront the entire federal affirmative action machine which, as Michael has discovered and documented, has a great investment in protecting and preferring certain races and skin colors while overlooking the injustices and abuses heaped upon his disabled wife by persons of the correct color and correct political beliefs. -- Tim Fay)
